Working Holiday France - Residential (Travel, Accommodation, Meals Included)
WORKING HOLIDAY FRANCE.
I’m Jim McIntyre, best known for manufacturing Spartan Cars (Google). I first employed students in the summer break as hostess when inviting motoring journalists and their wives to drive my cars and enjoy a day trip on my motor yacht. I don’t make cars now - I've metamorphed into property. Shops, offices, photo studios and 3 motor garages. I can’t resist buying ancient properties to renovate so I’ve got 2 old houses, 1 in Brittany and 1 in Burgundy. I’m quite happy in a part renovated house for a few days but I don’t expect you to “rough it”, so you are in a farmhouse B&B nearby which we book before leaving UK. We then drive on, (sorry not in one of my sports cars), but a big Volvo estate full of tools, fridges, ladder on roof! Repeat process at my favourite property, a barn conversion in Burgundy.
Then we spend the remainder on my yacht, moored near beach in St. Tropez. Google images of “Neptunus 138” or look at my Facebook page. You have your own cabin and you may invite a guest for a few days if we have a gap in my invitees. We only do day trips out in the boat, anchor near beach for lunch and a swim. She only does 2 miles to a gallon and I’m Scottishly thrifty but I’ve learned guests prefer to be back early evening so they can head to restaurants and clubs. You may go out but I’m happy reading, (or trying to write a book). Everyone speaks English. All food, hotels and travel paid for then you return home. You do get wages but more importantly you get an experience! Starting with the journey itself, I think people who fly to the South of France are missing a treat. We don’t use the motorways, we meander on country roads, avoiding Paris and Lyon and stopping at various places of interest like the Battlefields of Agincourt and Crecy, the home of the Philosopher Jean Jaques Rosseux.
Jamie last year got £2000 for 5 weeks.
I can do practical jobs, brickwork, roofs, welding, air conditioning, but I’m not good at shopping, tidying, cleaning, emails, texting, booking hotels, flights and social things such as invitations for drinks, meals out taking kids to beach etc - hence this ad for you.
This ad is timed to get a person for the long summer school and university break.
You fly back in time for uni but I do trips as short as 2 weeks any time from Easter to November so can be part of a gap year or a break from other employment. Applications open to male/female age 16 to 96 but over the years it’s generally been students who have usually just completed “A” level and starting university in September or existing university students, many studying French or other languages. Examples; Claire, Diane, Jenny, French undergraduates but also Lizzie did 3 trips and Ashley both studied forensic science. Ellie did 3 trips and studied geography. Also these previous helpers can be contacted for a reference on myself.
Your bus or train fare paid for the day to interview in Nottingham where I show you photographs of previous students/applicants working in France. (All now graduated hence this advert.) Applicants strictly UK. To learn more simply pick up the phone and call Jim on 07976 756402 anytime or text me to “ring” and I’ll call back saving you the call cost. Alternatively email via E4S. If chosen you will be asked to do a few days paid working here in Nottingham to meet my family, friends and business colleagues.
Dates and length to fit your “other holidays”.
