Enthusiastically lead and motivate a team of Activity & Welfare Leaders in delivering our summer programme. Supporting the Activities Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of activities & excursions, training & development of the Activity & Welfare Leaders and ensuring that all residential duties are conducted thoroughly. Your energy & professionalism will be infectious and play a key role in success of your centre.

Your main duties will include:

  • Support Activity & Welfare Leaders with their delivery through training, mentoring, observations & feedback.
  • Lead by example, showing the Ardmore way of delivering activities, evening entertainment & excursions.
  • plan, organise and set up activities during morning, afternoon, and evening activities.
  • Conduct pre-excursion briefs with your team the night before excursions.
  • Ensure the AWL’s have all the information and training needed to deliver successful excursions and activities.
  • Ensure the team are engaging students during free time & actively supporting the host centre during mealtimes.
  • Responsible for stock, ensuring it is used and stored correctly, and the stock list is kept up to date.
  • You will play and active, key role during arrivals and departures, ensuring AWLs are well prepared and room checks are completed correctly.
  • Lead night duties, to ensure all students are accounted for in their rooms and that fire lists are up to date.
  • Assist with the opening and closing of the centre, as directed by the Centre Manager

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience delivering sports/activities.
  • Ability to motivate and enjoy working with large groups of students.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Previous experience working with children/teenagers.
  • Ability to create and sustain working relationships with students.
  • Eligible to work in the UK and 18 years old or over.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous summer school experience.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
  • Hold a valid First Aid Certificate, Lifeguard or sports coaching qualification.
  • Valid DBS and/or Overseas Police Checks (Ardmore can assist with this).
