TK Maxx Taking On 5,000 Seasonal Staff This Christmas

TK Maxx is gearing up for the festive season by recruiting approximately 5,000 seasonal staff members this Christmas.

The renowned discount fashion retailer has more than 350 branches nationwide, with over 50 stores scattered across Greater London alone.

This hiring spree at TK Maxx this year extends to its sister brand, Homesense. The festive opportunities come with rewards, benefits, and for some, the prospect of securing a permanent position after the holiday rush is over.

The run up to Xmas sees a substantial surge in sales for TK Maxx, as customers flock to capitalise on the discounted prices of popular brands, making it an ideal destination for seasonal gift shopping.

Consequently, the retailer is on the lookout for thousands of extra pairs of hands to help the permanent staff during their busiest trading period of the year.

Despite high demand, these seasonal opportunities do not necessarily need prior experience from applicants. Instead, TK Maxx say they are looking for individuals with a 'positive and enthusiastic attitude.'

Various London locations - including Merton, Wandsworth, Greenwich, Camden, Purley and Clapham - are actively seeking additional staff for the upcoming winter season at TK Maxx.

The positions offer flexibility in working hours, along with a range of benefits, including a 'competitive' pay rate, staff discounts and enticing perks with other incentives.

Announcing the seasonal jobs at the firm, TK Maxx’s Group Director, Deborah Dolce, said:

“Our stores are the go-to gifting destination for millions of loyal customers over Christmas. Our brilliant associates play an important role in creating a fantastic festive shopping experience for our customers.”

“We work equally hard to reward TK Maxx and Homesense associates with a fun and friendly atmosphere where everyone is welcome, valued and engaged. I’m delighted to say, we offer around 40 per cent of our seasonal associates a permanent opportunity within the TK Maxx and Homesense family,” added Ms Dolce.

Mustafa Huseyin, a current General Manager who first started work at TK Maxx as a seasonal worker a quarter of a century ago, spoke of his journey through the ranks at the retailer, saying:

“I loved the culture so much I decided to stay. I was in the middle of completing my A-levels and needed a part-time job.”

“The great thing about the role was no one day was the same - the deliveries, the customers, and the daily challenges gave me a buzz. I also learned a lot about the business and retail environment which helped me progress through my career,” added Mr Huseyin.

If you're considering a Christmas job, then don’t delay! Now is the perfect time to explore the numerous festive roles advertised at TK Maxx and other high street retailers.
