2. Tuition centre jobs - tutoring firms who run tutoring courses / classes in community centres or schools for a couple of hours in the evenings and / or at weekends. Tutors tend to teach small groups of 4-7 students aged 5-18 years old. Most subjects will be taught including literacy and numeracy. These firms tend to offer in-house training to their tutors so they are a great way of getting regular work and receiving tutoring training.
3. Online tutor jobs - work for online tutoring companies who stream classes over the internet so you can work as a tutor from the comfort of your own home.

Can You Do Tutoring In Your Spare Time? Is It Flexible?

Yes, it most definitely is. If you can find a private client to tutor then you should have no problem fixing up a schedule of one to one sessions which is convenient for both parties.

You can tutor in the evenings, at weekends or exclusively in the holidays so that the tutoring work does not interfere with your own education.

Even if you find a position with a professional tutoring company, they should still be able to arrange hours that fit around your lifestyle.

How Can A Tutor Job Help My Long Term Career?

Obviously, if you are thinking about a long-term career as a teacher then tutoring will help you pick up some of the skills you will be using every day. The hands-on experience you can gain as a student tutor while still at college or university could be very valuable when you actually start applying for teaching positions.

Even if you don’t fancy a career as a teacher, then the skills you hone and develop as a tutor are very transferable to other spheres of work. Being able to explain ideas in a simple way so that people understand is a quality that is highly valued by almost every business in the world.

Student tutoring jobs are a really well paid work option and can be done part time during term time around your studies, or over the holidays.

It is quite possible to find tutoring opportunities just by asking around college or university. Maybe your teachers, tutors or lecturers will know of some potential students for you to approach.
