Job Summary
We are looking to recruit a placement student as a part of their ‘sandwich’ degree course. In this role you will work remotely under the Fundraising Manager as a part of our UK team, alongside our PR and Media and Impact Coordinator placement interns. You will be mentored in all aspects of running a successful small charity, from communicating with partners to organising volunteers, from managing donations to social media and admin.

Our aim of reducing poverty and transform communities focuses on improving gender equality through female empowerment. Our vision is to build confidence and capability amongst the most vulnerable women and girls. We aim to achieve this through our mission to listen to our communities, providing care and holistic education to transform their lives. Our Strong Mothers programme supports struggling adolescent mothers in rural Uganda through childcare and skills training.
Key Responsibilities- Communicating with small fundraising team in UK, organising part-time volunteers and reporting to Fundraising Manager.
- Acting as the link between UK and Ugandan team, strengthening internal relationships.
- Reaching out to potential fundraising partners via email and applying for funding opportunities.
- Supporting the Events Coordinator with organising fundraising events.
- Learning all desired aspects of running a small charity.
- Strengthen your network and provide new relevant connections before graduation.
- Opportunity to travel to Act4Africa site in Mayuge, Uganda.

Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a relevant Bachelors degree course (International Development, International Relations, Communications, Business, Social Work, Business Management, etc.)
- Working knowledge of English language.
- Experience in professional or personal fundraising.
- Experience in volunteering or charity work.
- An interest in pursuing a career in global impact.
- Strong self-management and organisation.
- Communication via Zoom meeting platform.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- If successful, you must have permission to work in the UK by the start of your employment
- You must be able to speak English fluently
