Glass is infinitely recyclable making it an important packaging material of today and more importantly of the future, as such the glass industry is an exciting and sustainable business to work in and be part of. We are currently seeking to recruit highly motived and pro-active individuals to join our Mould Shop Department on a 4-year apprenticeship at our West Yorkshire site in Leeds. The apprenticeship will cover all aspects of performing engineering operations and machining, including milling, turning, mechanical principles and manufacturing techniques and on completion will provide successful candidates with a well-recognised qualification.The site has recently seen a multimillion-pound investment, which includes the installation of new furnace technology, state of the art glass forming machines, automation and new employee facilities. This investment not only improves the overall working environment for our workforce, but also secures our long-term ability to grow as an organisation and keep up with the ever-increasing needs and demands of our customers.This is both an exciting and rewarding opportunity for anyone looking to establish their career and gain new skills within a unique and sustainable industry. We offer a fully structured and well-established training plan which is designed to allow individuals to learn and develop at their individual pace and the role benefits from one-to-one training with an allocated Trainer and Manager.If you have a genuine interest in joining one of these teams and in a career involving the practical aspects of machining in an engineering environment, then this is an opportunity which can put you on the path to an extremely rewarding career with a well-established, highly successful local business.Ideally candidates will have a minimum of three GCSE passes (A* to C) which should include Maths and English. However, candidates who do not have the required qualifications but are able to demonstrate a high desire to learn will be considered. Candidates must be hard working, punctual and reliable, and possess a good work ethic as well as having a mature and sensible attitude to learning and personal development.
