What does a typical shift look like?

Our tutoring sessions range from one-to-one to groups of up to six, and you'll be working with the same children each week, finding out what approach works best for themto support consistent progress.There will be nolesson planning or marking as your resources have been created and designed for you, and our online learning platform uses an algorithm to assess students as they go, allowing you to focus on bringing learning to life for your students.

This role is fast-paced, hands-on and varied, and your training will match. Be ready to roll up your sleeves and embrace every challenge; trust us, it's worth it when you see the progress you, and your students, make. From your first week in the role, you'll learn how to lead the learning experience, and you'll think on your feet to adapt to each student you work with. You'll also honeyour communication skills to deliver quality feedback, confidently guidingyour studentstowards achieving their goals.

Does this sound like you?

  • Are you confident in maths and English, having achieved or been predicted a grade 5 or above in your GCSEs (or equivalent)? Please note: we accept predicted GCSE grades if you will be receiving your results within the next 3 months.
  • Are you passionate about working with children in an educational setting?
  • Do you have initiative to think on your feet, and a willingness to learn new skills, taking ownership of your development?
  • Are you aged 16or over, and currently living in the UK? Please note, you will only be able to workonline if you are aged 17 or over.

Logistics

  • Your availability: Our tutors usually work2-3 consistent shifts per week; you canrequest as many hours as you'd likeas long as it's more than your minimum of6 contracted weekly hours.
  • Where you will be based: Unless you are an online tutor, you will work consistently at onecentre where you have your regular weekly hours.
  • Yourcommitmentto children's safeguarding: promoting the welfare of children and young people. All successful applicants will undertake employment reference checks, and a Disclosure & Barring Service check. Please note, this role isexempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order.
  • Your hourly pay rate will depend on your age and location; you'll start earning between £6.25-£9.65 for centres outside the M25 or £6.75-£10.15 per hour for centres inside. On top of this, you will also receive an additional 12% of your monthly pay as holiday pay and your pay will accrue an additional uplift based on the number of hours you have worked with us. On top of your tutoring shifts, you will be paid for all of your training and induction sessions.
  • Your start date: If the centre you are applying for does not have immediate shifts available, your application will still be processed and considered for a future start date.
