Job Description

The Launch Group are working with MBDA to suupport with gaining enthusiastic and passionate apprenticeships for their 2023 intake.Throughout the life cycle of our products, a multitude of skill and expertise is required. At MBDA our Business and Support functions cover a wide range of fields, each one is crucial for our continued growth. And each one has its part to play in ensuring we deliver on our promises to our customers.The OpportunityOur Business Degree Apprentices are given a unique insight in to various functions within MBDA. By the end of this four year programme they begin the next stage of their career in a part of the business that they have experienced, and are keen to continue working in.There are two streams within the Business Degree Apprenticeship that you may join. We will consider you for both unless you specify an interest in only one within your application.In our Business stream you will experience placements in:· Project Management –work on a variety of projects and platforms to manage planning, costs and risk mitigation· Commercial – liaise with MBDA’s customers, ensuring the correct commercial agreements are in place to support the winning and delivering against the overall business objectives. There is a large amount of legal and commercial knowledge available to support you within your placement· Procurement – gain experience of contract management and different types of agreements with a wide range of monetary values. Learn and put into action negotiating and influencing skills.· Supply Chain – gain experience in managing and improving supplier performance through risk assessments, ensuring that risks are identified, collected and effectively mitigated.In our Sales and Business Development (SBD) stream placements will be focused more on SBD - engaging with the UK Ministry of Defence and International customers, gaining experience in developing product strategy, industrial strategy, communications, marketing and bid management. In addition you will spend a summer in one of MBDA’s international offices! (subject to any restrictions).Programme StructureWhichever programme you join, throughout years 1 - 4 you will follow a similar placement structure, covering 10-12 placements through the scheme (of which 4 are core placements) and attending university once a week.You will study towards a BA/BSc Hons Chartered Manager at Hertfordshire University for 4 years, which we will fully fund, and is also accredited by the Chartered Management Institute. You'll work within our business on rotational placements for the remainder of the week. This way of studying allows you to earn an academic and nationally recognised qualification as well as gain hands on learning experience within a professional and friendly workplace.
