Our capability has grown steadily over recent years and we have substantial hands-on experience of operating and maintaining turbines of varying type and age from multi-megawatt full converter turbines to a variety of older types. The wind O&M business sits within Jacobs Field Services in the UK which operates as a truly multidiscipline contractor, providing design, installation, commissioning and maintenance services. Services provided by the Wind O&M team include; scheduled and unscheduled turbine maintenance, fault finding, spares management and procurement, major repairs including gearbox, generator, yaw gear and blade replacement, turbine erection and dismantling and asset condition inspections. Our site management services typically include regular site inspections, site inductions, HV network management and switching, emergency response, management of balance of plant maintenance, SCADA monitoring and reporting, site work control including operation control under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules Role Outline/Responsibilities We are looking to expand our team with the addition of an Apprentice Travelling Wind Turbine Technician to primarily support the Operations and Maintenance of Jacobs O&M Portfolio. This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday with occasional weekend work. Apprentices follow a three - four year training programme, with day release. Working as part of a team candidates for this role are expected to: Perform routine scheduled maintenance on wind turbine mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, Respond to breakdowns and carry out unscheduled maintenance, Conduct fault finding and failure analysis, Assist with the completion service reports accurately, Accurately record the details of work and parts used using our Maintenance Management System. Adhere to the requirements of the Wind Turbine Safety Rules, relevant company HSE rules and guidance and Health & Safety Legislation, A reasonable degree of flexibility is required from all employees to meet the needs of the role, the department, and the wider company. Can work as part of a team but equally show strong initiative, ability and confidence to make decisions, Conduct themselves in a professional manner in accordance with company values, The candidate is expected to show a reasonable level of flexibility to meet the needs of the role and the wider company . The right candidate will have an aptitude for engineering work, and have as a minimum 5 GCSE's at grade C or higher (or equivalent) including Maths, English and Science. Full driving licence. Able to work at heights and in challenging environments Team player, cooperative, interested in further personal and career development Prepared to travel throughout the UK.
