About this roleMain Responsibilities:• Ensure equipment integrity by carrying out routine and breakdown maintenance, servicing and lubrication of all platform Mechanical Handling Equipment in accordance with Client planned preventative maintenance routines and manufacturers manuals/service charts.• Supporting onshore team with the planning of work scopes; creation and reviewing of work packs: attending close outs and any other reasonable requests which enhance efficient delivery of work scopes. This support may be provided from office or home-based location.• Support the management of all crane spares, including planning in advance of PMRs, ordering of spares via the contract office, and ensuring that all spares requests have sufficient and relevant information and are clearly numbered and prioritised.• Ensure the planned maintenance programme is carried out as agreed by Business Manager and Client, ensuring that all other maintenance work is completed, and information is recorded on the Client maintenance management system.• The incumbent is to review project work packs & ensure that they contain all the relevant instructions, procedures, drawings etc to enable the activity to be completed in conjunction with the organisation’s safe working practices.• Support onshore management in meeting KPI targets by undertaking Audits in line with a Terms of Reference. The incumbent will be responsible for compiling a report of findings and recommendations and reporting back as requested. This may be onshore or offshore at client or supplier locations.• The incumbent will assist in the creation and management of Work Orders in the computerised management maintenance system (CMMS).• There is an expectation that the incumbent will have a flexible attitude to assisting with the onshore planning of work scopes; creation/reviewing of work packs, attending close outs & other reasonable requests which enhance efficient delivery of work scopes.• Liaise daily with Business Manager or his representative (Contract Support Engineer) to advise him of status of on-going work, highlighting any possible problems or concerns.• Establish and maintain effective communication with platform representatives to ensure an efficient service is provided on an on-going basis.• The incumbent is responsible for giving a detailed report of any Mechanical Handling & Lifting incidents to the Business Manager or Contract Support Engineer, within 24 hours of the event.• The incumbent is to ensure that objectives are explained in sufficient detail and in a manner, level and pace appropriate to all the relevant individuals.• Ensure that work methods and activities optimise the use of available material, capital and personnel.• Liaise with Client’s offshore personnel to gain the necessary work permits and organise work programmes.• Carry out effective and constructive Tool Box Talks with the team members, highlighting potential problems for review by the Engineering Department.• Responsible for keeping a daily log and completing timesheets and populating incident forms as and when required.• Provide written reports and effective feedback on the general performance of team members.• Carry out inspection of equipment as requested, by providing a report detailing findings and recommendations.• The incumbent will actively get involved in utilising DNA to log and action defects.• Establish and maintain effective communication with platform personnel to ensure an efficient service is provided on an on-going basis.• The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that subordinates are supported in order to perform their jobs effectively and are provided with learning opportunities through which their abilities and potential can be developed whenever possible. • The incumbent is responsible for mentoring subordinates with respect to their personal development and may conduct workplace assessment/observations to aid ongoing competency. • Participate in Safety Meetings and Time out for Safety discussions when required. • Support & undertake comprehensive pre/post Job Briefs and Tool Box Talks• Support crane operations if required to assist with maintenance work scopes, operating platform pedestal cranes (at appropriate level) under the direction of nominated Client personnel. Crane operating duties are restricted to the specific crane(s) and platform(s) on which the employee has been deemed competent. HSEQ Responsibilities • It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company's HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Sparrows Integrated Management System. The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to their Line Manager.• The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health and safety legislation to follow all Company processes and procedures and familiarise themselves with the emergency response arrangements applicable to them. The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises. Qualifications & Experience • Relevant Technical experience and practical capabilities, along with Business Management experience.• Excellent communication skills to enable effective liaison with clients, vendors and other members of staff.• Effective in dealing with commercial and management aspects of the role • Careful and meticulous professional and a motivated self-starter • Good technical writing skills and proficient use of MS Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel etc)
