Working Environment:The role is based at our head office in Meadowfield in Durham, with travel to all Banks Group projects around United Kingdom expected. Overall Objectives: Our new graduate PR & digital communications reporter will play a key role in creating and delivering engaging and inspiring content across a range of internal and external communication channels.The successful candidate will be able to write, present and interview people as well as have the technical know-how to edit and polish the content so can be published across all our current and future internal and external channels. The post holder will ensure our presence on the communications channels helps to deliver our business plan objectives and delivers key messages effectively to our agreed target audiences. Key Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be able to write new stories, copy and scripts appropriate for each audience conduct interviews, present to camera as well as edit and polish content into a publishable format. In this way it would suit a journalism / mass communications graduate. Support the communications manager, in conjunction with our external agencies, on the day-to-day management of our internal and external communications, including: Print, online, broadcast and multi-media journalism – by-lines and front of cameraScript writingBroadcast productionBroadcast interview preparation inc Q&A and rehearsalsSocial media writing, filming editing and planning inc organising appropriate photo shoots / commissioning appropriate graphics to support the messagePlan, produce and create a programme of content to be used across all our communication channels, increasing engagement with our key target audiences and stakeholdersCreate photos and video footage to support our communication channels.Currently Banks has a presence on the following social media channels: i) Twitter; ii) Facebook; iii) LinkedIn and iv) YouTube. These are underpinned by our website. Channels could be expanded to include Instagram, Tik-tok and other platforms Develop creative ideas, suggest new inventive ways of delivering content (for both internal and external communication programmes) and keep up-to-date with the latest marketing communication trends / best practice Share knowledge and best practice with internal teams and them to produce ideas to help achieve planning applicationsAdvise Banks project teams on effective ways of using digital marcomms to support various development proposals Create an awareness and interest within our key target stakeholders driving traffic to engage with our digital content and that of our third-party advocates Monitor, analyse and report on the performance of digital channels / activities using tools like Google Analytics, feeding back to stakeholders, and using the data to inform future activities Prioritise and schedule work effectively, anticipating problems, sign off delays and procedures and adjusting the allocation of resources and time accordinglyWork with relevant colleagues and external partners to develop, manage and implement the digital side of integrated marketing campaigns Participate in regular departmental and cross departmental progress meetingsProof-read as required Attend events, photo shoots, external liaison / stakeholder meetings and functions as and when relevant – using Banks Group DSLR cameras, video recorders and mobile phones as appropriateComply with and help us keep our policies and procedures current so they are up-to-date and fit for purpose in a digital / pictorial ageTo act responsibly with data held by Banks Group that you have access to as part of your role, adhering to the provided guidelines and policies and reporting any concerns or possible breaches to Banks Group’s data protection and compliance officer Key contacts: The post holder will work across a range of projects in the organisation and therefore effective working relationships will need to be formed with various internal teams and senior managers across the business, external stakeholders, and suppliers.The position reports to our Communications Manager.Person Specification / Skills [what we are looking for in applicants:]Essential: Confident, persuasive and charismatic manner“Media trained”, competent at present in front of a camera and on the radioKnowledge of running digital marketing campaignsAbility to use web content management systems, preferably WordPressAbility to develop and manage social media campaigns across channels such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, using tools like HootsuiteExperience of photography and creating / editing images, using packages such as Adobe PhotoshopExperience of video production, including presenting, writing scripts, conducting interviews, presenting, filming, editing, and delivering via channels such as YouTubeUnderstanding of digital analytics and metrics, their importance, and the tools to monitor, manage and evaluate them, like Google Analytics and HootsuiteFull UK driving licence will be required as the role will involve travel around Banks projects throughout the UK. Desirable: Experience of creating and hosting webinars, preferably using GoToWebinar or similarAn understanding of or experience in developing email marketing campaigns, using web-based delivery packagesExperience of managing key stakeholder databases (in line with data compliance laws) Personal Qualities / Competencies: A “people person” with excellent written and oral communication skillsCreative and innovativeAble to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other business functions, project team members and partners / suppliersAble to deliver a range of concurrent projects, on-time and on budgetExceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and structure work schedulesCustomer champion - good listener, consistently delivers on time on commitmentsAbility to demonstrate strong attention to detailAbility to role model actions and behaviours consistent with the company values Entry requirements:You need to have 5 GCSE’s Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades D or above3x GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades A-C in any subject You must not already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level, or higher level than this apprenticeship.If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
