DescriptionWe are delighted to announce, that for the first time ever, we are opening our very own Jones Whyte Training Academy!As a firm, we have dramatically tripled in size in the last year whilst continuing to provide an excellent, efficient multi-service to our clients. We have recently been named ‘Law Firm of the Year’ in the 2021 Scottish Legal Awards and thus are on the lookout for new, motivated and enthusiastic employees who are ready to take the first step in their career.The Jones Whyte Training Academy is open to any individuals who are looking to become Paralegals. .You will first complete a Business Administration Apprenticeship whilst receiving on the job training which will provide you with the depth understanding and practical skills required to work as a paralegal and will begin with classroom-based training for the first 2 weeks covering Trusts, Wills and Executries. You will work within our Private Client Department where you will be involved in updating and maintaining client records through our case management system, and will have regular communication with clients.The course will commence on Monday 15th November 2021 and will be based in our Glasgow City Centre office.• Holiday ‘Buy and Sell’ scheme• 31 days Annual Leave – inclusive of Bank Holidays and time off over Christmas• Flexible and remote working• Staff referral scheme• Social events• Charity eventsWhat will I learn?• Handle client enquiries both face to face and via the telephone.• Dealing with incoming mail and emails, and responding to client queries• Fielding all new death calls coming into the business• Liaising with executors whilst managing estates, to ensure they are kept up dated and informed of the progress of Confirmation/Grant of Probate• Contacting the Courts/Probate Registry whether applying for Probate/Confirmation.• Liaising with asset holders to ensure executors instructions are carried out efficiently, and in accordance with the Will of the deceased or laws of intestacy.• Monitor the feeling of files to ensure fees are raised in accordance with the contract entered into with the executor, and in a timely manner.• Communicate with other departments on the progress of cases to ensure efficient management.• Reporting monthly to the Line Manager/Solicitor on ongoing cases.• Any other duties reasonably requested.What qualification or qualities are required?Desire to work in the legal sectorEnthusiastic and willing to learnGood communications skillsTeam playerProactive & organisedWilling to go the extra mile
