Job Description

Early Years Practitioner Apprentice - £4.30 an hour, Great Corby near Carlisle

We are looking for an enthusiastic Level 2 apprentice to work throughout the early years unit in a small rural school North of Carlisle.This is a great opportunity to begin your career in a school and qualify as a Early Years Practitioner.

Vacancy Details

Duties to include setting up and clearing classroom activities, supervising continuous provision, working with small groups, play ground duties, lunch duty with nursery children. You will assist qualified TA's to stimulate children’s play and learning and support at meal/snack time. We are looking for confident and friendly apprentice with good time keeping and a willingness to learn and commit fully to the job role. Able to use own initiative to keep children safe, happy and cared for in our supportive environment. You will receive National apprenticeship wage of £4.30 an hour. The working week for this vacancy is Monday to Friday.

Training and Qualification Details

Alongside working you will learn via a range of methods including face to face lessons, virtual delivery, online interactive learning modules as well as self-study. Completion of this apprenticeship will allow you to apply for Childcare Practitioner permanent vacancies or continue study for those considering the Level 3 Educator route.

Communication skills, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Team working, Non-judgemental approach, Patience, personal care. You must be interested in working with and supporting young people.

Qualifications Required

We require good GCSE grades and some experience of working/helping in early years is advantageous but not essential. As you will be studying for a Level 2 Apprenticeship and will be expected to hold a grade 4/C or above in either Maths OR English and at least a D in the other.
