To carry out assigned tasks which will result in greater comfort and safety for the residents in conjunction with current government and regulatory infection control policies. This will include such duties as maintaining cleanliness in residents’ rooms, bathrooms, sitting rooms and communal areas. Hoovering, carpet cleaning where required, dusting and general cleaning duties. The Trainee Domestic Assistant will be trained in all aspects of infection control and general duties involved in maintaining a clean, safe environment for residents living within a care home setting. You will be provided with training in the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health, (C.O.S.H.H), Health and Safety, Dementia Awareness, Moving and Handling and Fire Safety Training to improve your knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the role in a regulated service. The job involves working with vulnerable adults in a regulated care service, therefore all applicants will be subject to a ‘Protection of Vulnerable Groups’ check, (PVG).SKILLS NEEDEDThe job would be suitable for applicants with a caring nature who have a desire to work within the care system, in particular with older adults living in a care home environment. Training in all aspects of the post will be provided and there are good job prospects and remuneration for the successful candidate. As the care home is situated in a rural area of Falkirk (Avonbridge), a driving licence would be an advantage but is not a requirement of the job.WORKING HOURS7am - 3pm 7-day rotaHOURLY RATENMWADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORTEmployability support will be delivered remotely through our Gateway, Learning Curve Group. They will deliver the NCFE Level 1 Employability Skills Award qualification during the placement, working on the following units: · Understanding Mindset · Understanding Motivation · Working in a Team · Writing a CV Kickstarter’s will also be given pastoral support throughout their placement by their personal Employability Coach from Learning Curve Group. During their placement, they will also have the opportunity to complete a vocational Level 2 qualification as supplied by Learning Curve Group through their Flexible Learning offer.
