Make a difference every day!Invesco is driven by a pure focus on investment. It’s all we do. We focus on doing work that matters and being a firm that gives a voice to every employee. In fact, we make a promise to our clients and each other to create greater possibilities together. We’re looking for people who have fresh perspectives. Who can come together to share ideas, listen and challenge each other to achieve better solutions for our clients.Your teamAt the core of our Fixed Interest team's philosophy is a belief in active management: this underpins their work to deliver the individual long-term objectives of all the funds they manage. They seek to invest where they see the potential for attractive returns and to avoid risks that they don't think are being well rewarded. Their conviction-backed, proven approach is based on fundamental analysis, with a strong emphasis on valuation. It’s a diverse team, with many different backgrounds and perspectives: something we feel sets us apart.Your role Do you have an interest in the investment management industry? We’re offering an opportunity for you to get some outstanding experience, working within our renowned Fixed Interest team on a 4-week summer internship. You don’t have to be the President of the Investment Society and you don’t have to be studying economics or finance – but we are asking for a keen interest in the industry and its drivers (which could be demonstrated in a number of different ways), a thoughtful and inquisitive mindset, and strong numerical and analytical skills, which could be gained from any degree stream. During the internship, you’ll get the chance to write credit analysis reports on potential credit investments. This may also involve meeting with the management teams, assessing financials and researching industry sectors. You’ll rotate though different parts of the team, carrying out small research projects, designed to enhance your knowledge of Fixed Interest and you’ll present research findings to the team.Sound interesting? We’re looking for people who love learning and who have a diverse range of interests; people who can provide different perspectives and ideas. You’ll enjoy research and working with numerical concepts, and you’ll relish the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a supportive team, demonstrating your initiative and achievement focus. The internship is open to penultimate and final year undergraduate students from any subject area.
