Job Description

We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. The opportunity has arisen for an Trainee Community Support Worker/HCA within the Eating Disorders team for young people across North Yorkshire and York. The successful candidate will work across the locality providing physical monitoring to young people, liaison with paediatric wards and supporting the team with triage and assessment. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to facilitate groups, and offer direct support to young people and families.The Eating Disorder service currently operates across North Yorkshire and York, with main bases in York and Harrogate, and outreach to Scarborough and Northallerton. The successful candidate will be expected to travel - however travel costs will be included.The successful candidate must have completed the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or equivalent. Candidates must also have Literacy and Numeracy level 2 or equivalent and must complete the Trust Healthcare Assistant competencies within their probationary period (first 6 months in role).The successful candidate who do not have the required qualifications will be expected to enrol on the Healthcare Assistant Framework which will include the acquisition of the level 3 Diploma Health and Social Care, level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent and achievement of competencies. You will have a maximum of 2 years to complete this.The successful candidate will assist other registered professionals in the delivery of care to meet the individuals mental health, health and well being.
