We are in transition to new ways of working following the Covid19 pandemic. Whilst Winchester will be your formal workplace, you will work from a mix of office and home. At the moment we expect a higher proportion of your working week to be at home.



Working in a supported learning environment, you will undertake a programme of on- the-job training and theoretical study to develop the skills, knowledge and experience to be able to complete a range of tasks within required timescales. Our apprenticeship provider will:



 




  • Provide learners with the knowledge and skills they need to operate as a business administrator.

  • Develop skills of those already fulfilling a business administration role.

  • Allow learners to develop skills in a range of areas relevant to business administration roles, such as communication, presentation skills and providing administrative support.

  • Help learners develop the skills and qualities valued in employees by employers.

  • Allow learners to understand and work on their strengths and weaknesses as a business administration advisor.



At the end of this Apprenticeship you will be expected to be able to deliver the following duties:




  • Contribute to and support the delivery of a high quality support service working within the Highways Operation Centre.

  • Act as first point of contact for customer enquiries. Answer routine enquiries, prepare correspondence, and refer complex queries to senior colleagues.

  • Input information onto databases to maintain accurate records, ensuring information is correct and up-to-date.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and motivation to work well as part of a team and support other members of the team as required.


Personal Qualities :

 




  • Temporary or unpaid work experience in an office environment.

  • Moving and handling of objects, weekly requirement, up to 5kg

  • Use of display screen equipment, desktop PC and laptop



Skills Required :

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills

  • Ability to communicate in a variety of settings using spoken word and written word/ email.

  • A team worker, happy to support others and share information.

  • Able to demonstrate commitment to own personal professional development.

  • Good IT skills; understanding basic functions of Microsoft Office, specifically word, outlook and excel.
