Edwards has state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Europe, Asia and North America.About our Graduate programmeOur Customer Centre offers Edwards’ vacuum products and services to customers in scientific, industrial and after-care service markets across more than 90 countries. We are continuing to grow and are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and customer focused person to join our Sales and Marketing Graduate Programme in line with our ambitious growth plans. You’ll undertake four main placements over two years, get involved in real-life projects and shadow experienced sales engineers to help build your knowledge of Edwards’ products and the wider Vacuum business. At Edwards, you’re empowered to explore opportunities and drive your professional development. As part of this graduate programme, you’ll gain practical sales and marketing experience and have access to all the training, learning and assistance you need to build a great foundation for a career in technical sales and marketing.Where would I work?You will be based at our Global Headquarters in Burgess Hill, Sussex, a short drive away from the vibrant seaside city of Brighton and Hove. As part of the programme, you could also undertake a brief placement at one of our manufacturing sites at either Eastbourne (Sussex) or Clevedon (Somerset), or indeed undertake a short overseas placement, for example in our offices in Brno (Czech Republic), to provide you with a wide range of different perspectives and experiences.What will I do?Throughout the programme, you’ll learn how to promote Edwards as the core supplier of products and services in a given territory or portfolio. Each placement will develop your understanding of how each part of our Customer Centre works together to satisfy our customers’ needs and how we deliver the best possible customer experience to ensure our products and solutions are first in mind and first in choice. By the end of the programme, you’ll have gained experience in customer care, technical support, applications, inside sales and will have shadowed experienced sales engineers focused on different customer markets and territories. As part of the programme, you'll: Learn about vacuum products and solutions that we sell in our Customer Centre, ranging from scientific, industrial and after-market products and applications. Experience all aspects of the sales cycle and understand the foundations of effective selling.Collaborate with the wider sales team to ensure transparent and collaborative management of the business area.Develop sales plans, targets and forecasts to assist the wider sales teams’ growth plans. Identify and follow up on business lead opportunities to promote and sell the benefits of Edwards’ products and services.Analyse why we win and why we lose business and propose and implement ideas to increase the share of wins.Provide inputs on new product pricing strategies for customers.Work closely with Customer Care support teams and internal marketing/product teams to help provide first class assistance to the customer base.Create technical guidance material and participate in creative brainstorming for product branding. Get involved in real-life projects to enable efficiency gains and continuous improvement opportunities across our Customer Centre.Get involved in the promotional activities of our Early Careers programmes and the Early Careers community. About youWe are looking for a graduate to join us in September 2022 who has achieved or is predicted a 2:1 degree or above in any Science or Engineering degree, with an interest in technical sales and marketing. You must also have the unrestricted and continuous right to work in the UK.Desired skills and personal qualities: Passion for working in a Scientific/Technical environment and developing business acumen.Confident communicator with the ability to work with internal and external clients and stakeholders across several countries in Europe.Technical mindset and strong customer focus. Drive and desire for continuous professional development.Organised and methodical way of working.Ability to work independently and proactively.Resilient with good influencing and problem-solving skills.Sales experience desirable but not essential.Vacuum experience would be a bonus but not critical.
