Job descriptionIpswich Borough Council’s Waste and Cleansing team ensures the tidiness and cleanliness of the town centre and surrounding areas. They are responsible for waste collections, street cleaning, graffiti removal and recycling education. An apprenticeship with us is a great stepping-stone to your career, giving you valuable work experience, a recognised qualification, access to all our employee benefits and your own income. On top of this, as an apprentice you will take part in the Council’s Apprentice Development Programme, aimed at helping you develop a range of transferable skills including time management, problem solving and decision making. Many of our apprentices go on to get jobs with the Council after their apprenticeship. We are seeking applicants who are: Able to work as part of a team and have a positive “can do” attitude Self-motivated flexible and reliable Able to demonstrate good organisational skills and time management Willing to learn and undertake training and follow instructions Committed to making the most of this apprenticeship opportunity Hours of work are 37 per week and this role is offered on a fixed term basis.
