Job DetailsGrade: National Minimum Wage Hourly Rate as follows: NMW1 £4.62 (age 16-17) NMW 2 £6.56 (age 18-20) NMW 3 £8.36 (age 21-22) NMW 4 £8.91 (age 23-24) Salary: *£8431.49 - 16260.73 per year (NMW) - dependant on age. Contract Duration: Temporary until 31 March 2023 Role Purpose The Youth Worker (Youth Voice) - Modern Apprentice will support the development of a Youth Voice Forum across the Scottish Borders as well as supporting young people to have their voices heard across other platforms. Modern Apprenticeships (MA) offer new entrants to the labour market the chance of paid employment combined with the opportunity to undertake training relevant to the occupational area. This includes the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications that help kick-start a career without having to study full-time. New entrants include school and college leavers, those with no previous work experience and/or vocational qualifications. As this is an apprentice post the job holder will be required to work in various areas and departments throughout the service to develop skills, knowledge and experience in all aspects of Youth Engagement. This will be via on the job and formal training sessions to establish knowledge and understanding. Where this is a requirement for the successful candidate to work from home as part of the role you will be provided with the necessary IT equipment by the Council, however, you will be responsible for the provision of any required furniture. Essential A good general education. In accordance with Government Guidelines, you will need to be aged 16-24 (at the point of starting the apprenticeship) to qualify for this position.
