Thisleading supplier to the UK High streetare looking for a graduate/ traineeDesigner to join their expanding team in Manchester HQ. Working to support theWomens Outerwear team, you will be involved in researching trends, creating presentation boards, compiling comp shops and general design admin.
CAD, garment constructionand fabric knowledge is desirable as this is a role which will quickly offer growth and career development.This is a fast-paced role but will suit someone who has a genuine passion for Design, as well as the desire to grow and develop.
Graduate Designer- The Role:
- Compile and collate and present trend and design ideas, onseasonal themes
- Complete regular comp shops and present findings, communicating any missed opportunities with the design teams.
- Assist with creating specs/tech packs for the factories
- Be aware of the critical path and key dates.
- Assist the design process, CADs and sample tracking.
Graduate Designer- The Person:
- Entry level role - placement or internship experience is preferred.
- Educated to degree level with a minimum 2.1 degree in Fashion or other related subject or equivalent practical attainment
- Have a good understanding of commercial design, CAD and garmentconstruction
- Creative and trend driven with a good eye for colour and fabric
- Attentive to detail with the ability to think creatively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Team player and able to build relationships
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- To be able to deal with all challenges in a calm and positive manner
