As an independent agent, Hays Travel uses other tour operators in the United Kingdom. Overview: This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who is willing to learn & work hard to pursue a hardware focused career in IT.The apprentice will be working in a busy Technical department that supports all areas of the Business.The role involves supporting a wide aspect of ICT related issues with a focus on hardware & infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Troubleshooting and resolving everyday hardware problems and working closely with a software IT Support team to provide a first-class service to over 5000 individual computers Supported rollout and management of new hardware Management of Active Directory Users & Computers & associated technologies Assistance in developing new technical solutions within the company Some aspects of software understanding will be required at times to assist in primary workload Undertake any other duties that may fall into the job criteria Conform with all company policies and procedures including Health and Safety To treat all employees, customer and suppliers with dignity and respect This job description is not intended as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the post but simply reflects the key areas involved. Competencies required: Personable telephone manner delivering excellent customer serviceAbility to effectively communicate to all levels of staffAbility to work to strict deadlinesFocused & able to work competently alone or within a teamAbility to act on own initiative and prioritise workload with confidence in your own decision makingWillingness to learn new software applications and processes when necessaryAble to apply an analytical thought process & adapt troubleshooting accordingly Technical skills required: Hand on experience of, or desire to learn, Microsoft Windows 7 & 10A basic understanding of, or desire to learnMicrosoft based networking technologies is required, such as TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS etc. & the physical aspects of such networks.A basic understanding of, or desire to learn, key hardware components within a computerA basic understanding of, or desire to learn, ICT hardware troubleshooting Entry requirements: You need to have 5 GCSE’s: Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades D or above3x GCSE’s grade A-C in any other subject You must not already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level, or higher level than this apprenticeship. If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
