Job overview 1 x 30 hoursThis post is to provide a clinical administration as an apprentice - typing service to the Pathology Department based at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.As an apprentice, you will study your Customer Service Level 2 apprenticeship standard at James Cook Hospital and be allocated one of our dedicated trainers where you will study here on site for one day a week, working towards your end point assessment. Candidates must have their English and Maths GCSE grade 4 (C) or above. Working for our organisation The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a designated major trauma centre and provides all its specialties from one site which is unique for a hospital of its size. It provides a wide range of district general hospital services and specialist services such as neurosciences, renal medicine, spinal injuries, major trauma, cardiothoracics, vascular surgery and cancer services. It has 1,024 beds, a 24-hour acute admissions unit and an emergency department which houses the major trauma centre for Durham, East Cleveland, Tees Valley and North Yorkshire and has its own helipad. In 2012 the Middlesbrough hospital completed a £35 million redevelopment of its cancer services and is now proud to provide some of the best facilities in Europe. The James Cook University Hospital has a modern, central operating suite containing 20 well-equipped theatres and a 16-bedded intensive care unit. There is also an Institute of Learning, Research and Innovation on site, embracing postgraduate medical education, undergraduate teaching centre, nurse training school, the school of radiography and library facilities.
