It covers an area of 2,687 square miles and has seven diverse districts. Every year, thousands of people come to Lincolnshire, mainly for the quality of life it has to offer.Here at Serco we are looking for an Apprentice Revenue Assistant to join our friendly teams at Lincolnshire Country Council to provide an administrative support function and an overall accurate and effective transactional service including the income cashier and credit control function.As our Revenue Assistant apprentice, you’ll work closely with the Revenue Services Manager and the Credit Control Manager to provide administrative and telephony support as required to Income or Credit Control teams whist meeting tight deadlines and maintain a very high standard of customer service. You’ll provide an overall finance support/processing service ensuring that an effective, efficient and customer focussed service is delivered within required activity timescales. You’ll work together with your colleagues in reviewing and updating procedures to improve quality and consistency while ensuring appropriate levels of security and confidentiality are applied at all times to any work undertaken.As part of the apprenticeship scheme we’ll provide you with L3 Business Administration and L2 Functional English and Maths training (all delivered by our Apprenticeship team at Serco). You’ll also have access to a treasure trove of development opportunities and enjoy the full training, support and encouragement of our super-friendly team. You will develop the skills you need for the job by working alongside your colleagues and getting hands on experience.About youTo be successful in this role you will need to be organised, able to plan and prioritise your workload. So, as well as excellent IT skills you’ll be someone who is thorough and organised in your working approach and be comfortable in dealing with multiple tasks at once.The role requires a pro-active, well-organised and confident individual with a basic understanding of financial procedures with excellent customer service skills. Your ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbally) as well as being a committed team player is vital in keeping your internal customers happy.We use a variety of online tools and technology, so you’ll be happy working with MS Office Suite and can easily turn your hand to online systems and tools. Lastly, you’ll need to have between an A* and C in Maths and English (or 9 to 4 under the new grading system) and have a strong interest in Business Administration.Things to consider It is essential that you are able to travel daily to Lincolnto arrive on time for work.All employees involved in the delivery and/or management of employability provision may be subject to an enhanced DBS check, which includes a check of criminal records.
