Job Description

You will be part of the front of house team at Falmouth Art Gallery and work alongside all staff in a supportive role.



This role has lots of variety. Whether welcoming visitors and answering enquiries, selling in our shop, or setting up our spaces for events and workshops, you’ll play a vital part in making sure that every visitor enjoys their time with us.




Person specification.



You’ll be a people person with a strong interest in all things arts and culture.



You’ll be a great communicator and will enjoy putting your excellent people skills to use to make every visitor feel valued and welcome.



You’ll be a supportive team player, always willing to jump in and lend a hand, but you’ll also be happy to work on your own initiative when necessary.



You will have sound knowledge of Microsoft packages and social media platforms.



You will have a flexible approach to working hours to include some Saturdays and occasional evenings.



You will be keen to learn new skills.



Main duties and responsibilities:




  • Working within the gallery space welcoming visitors

  • Answering the phone

  • Dealing with face-to-face enquiries

  • Recording visitor numbers

  • Selling items from the shop

  • Entering products into the shopify system and pricing new stock

  • Checking stock and replacing products

  • Ensuring the product range and display areas are well presented

  • Updating our digital platforms

  • Writing social media posts

  • Assisting with the running of events and workshops

  • Assisting with general admin duties
