As a Craft Plant Aircraft Systems Testing Group Apprentice at Airbus you will follow the Maintenance programme, to gain a NVQ Level 3 Extended Diploma (in Engineering Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance), plus a Subsidiary Diploma in Engineering and a HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Your first year on the Craft Plant Aircraft Systems Testing Group programme will be spent at college completing the Level 2 Foundation course; learning about engineering operations and achieving a number of technical certificates and company required qualifications. As an apprentice following the Craft Plant Aircraft Systems Testing Group programme, you will attend Coleg Cambria (Deeside Campus), and on completion of our 38 month programme will become a Skilled Mechanical Maintenance Fitter.About Us! Our Apprentices receive second to none training, gaining the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to enable you to make an immediate contribution when you enter the workforce.An Airbus Craft Plant Aircraft Systems Testing Group Apprenticeship (Craft) offers you the opportunity to gain qualifications with no fees, whilst acquiring new skills through vocational training, and a regular salary.What you will be doing:Your first year on this Manufacturing Aero Apprenticeship Programme will predominantly be spent at our partner college (Coleg Cambria) to achieve the Level 2 Foundation course; learning about engineering operations, and achieving a number of technical units towards your national diploma.Once the foundation phase is complete, our Apprentices move into the Manufacturing Plant facility at our site in Broughton near Chester, to work alongside our skilled fitters and operators. Here you'll learn a range of different skills and methods which will enable you to complete your level 3 vocational qualification.During your time in the Airbus factory, Craft Plant Aircraft Systems Testing Group Apprentices work within all of theBroughton production areas maintaining and supporting the production tooling and testing equipment. As a Maintenance Fitter or Maintenance Electrician you will be responsible for carrying out routine, Planned PreventativeMaintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs on all testing equipment from Broughton plant and Final Assemblylines(FAL) within the Airbus Broughton plant. Skills:In order to be eligible for this exciting apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of:Grade B or 6 in Maths, Grade C or 4 in English Language and Science (either core and additional / double award, or Physics is Science was taken as individual subjects), another 2 subjects at grade C or 4. and a BTEC Level 2 in Engineering would be preferable, but not essential.
