It is a fantastic opportunity for you to join an accredited engineering scheme that has developed some of the leading engineering apprentices in the UK, whilst working in a truly fascinating and ‘one of a kind’ function.Customer Support & Services (CSS) has overall responsibility for the definition, development and delivery of support and service packages for all MBDA products, with the aim of continually being able to meet our customers’ requirements.Within this department you will see work right the way from concept phase through to disposal of a product - you’ll even have opportunity to influence the design of what we produce to ensure it is supportable through its life!Our Customers are incredibly important to us and you will be on hand to ensure that their requirements are met and the reputation of MBDA continues to prosper.Our CSS team assists our Customers through Training, supplying technical publications and working on spares and maintenance as well as providing technical assistance where required. You’ll get to attend meetings with the MoD and the Armed forces so you’ll experience how important we are to assisting the end user of our products.On this Degree Apprenticeship you’ll complete rotational placements in: Supportability (Integrated Logistic Support ILS) EngineeringSupport EngineeringSupport Services including Technical Publications, Training and Field SupportMechanical/Electronic EngineeringDependability covering Reliability and SafetyHuman FactorsManufacturing But you’ll also get to work on maintaining relationships with parties with vested interest in the work we do, understand Key Performance Indicators and work on innovative support solutions – all with the support of a diverse team of engineers and professionals.You’ll study for a Product Design (Electrical) BSc (Hons) at University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield for one day a week and the remainder of your working week will be putting in to practice everything you’re learning in a real life environment. Throughout the programme MBDA also provides opportunities to build on your skills by providing a series of courses focusing on key skills such as team building and presentational skills.By the end of the 4 year CSS Degree Apprenticeship you will become a well-rounded Supportability Engineer equipped with the skills and knowledge, allowing you to be ready to take on your next role within the Company!We will also help you to achieve a Professional qualification through the IMechE, IET or RAeS.This apprenticeship will be a blend of virtual and face to face.Entry CriteriaThis role has specific qualification level and subject criteria - please make sure you carefully check your eligibility against this criteria as we cannot consider applications from anyone that does not meet the following requirements:5 x GCSES Grade 9 – 4 AchievedTo include: Maths & English Language & a Science / Technology subject Grade 9 – 4 Achieved120 UCAS PointsAchieved through either:Alevels: 3 x B's (or ABC) including Maths AND Physics or Technology or Engineering subjectORBTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering minimum DDM including a Distinction in Further Maths module.Why consider us?MBDA is an award winning company; committed to providing an inclusive working environment where our employees can be themselves and everyone has equal opportunity to reach their full potential.
