Job Description

Mobile Testing Unit (MTU) Operative

Here at Serco were helping the UK Government address the challenges posed by Coronavirus; to actively support them in combating the spread of the disease, were now recruiting for Mobile Testing Unit Operatives. As an Operative, youll play an important role in the day-to-day running of a Mobile Testing site.

Youll be informed of your work location a day or two in advance. Youll then be involved in a variety of tasks including driving, queue management, managing stock and supplies, administration, security, cleaning, customer registration and assistance, and collecting self-administered tests. In short, youll help keep the MTU safe, secure, and in good running order. You may be expected to drive the MTU Vans as part of this role.

As well as having the satisfaction of being part of a vitally important national effort to fight the pandemic, we can offer a working environment driven by Sercos core values of Trust, Care, Innovation and Pride. Youll also become a member of our temporary workforce and have access to opportunities in other areas of our multi-sector business.

All PPE, safety equipment, and training will be provided.

What you need to do the role

You dont need to hold any qualifications to do this role. Whats more important is that you are a friendly, safety conscious person, with a flexible attitude to work. As youll be dealing with members of the public, it will be helpful to have experience within customer services, along with experience of working as part of a team in what can be a fast-paced environment. Occasionally our MTU sites may attract a lot of media attention so youll need to be confident in dealing with a press presence.

You will need to be flexible because you may only be informed of your work location the night before.

You'll require a full UK drivers licence and access to your own transport to travel to Mobile Test Unit deployment sites for this role.
