Job Description

About the role

The Gateway is the first point of contact for any customers or professionals that need advice, guidance or any information on our supported services.

You will be working alongside Helen where you will be providing support to customer’s enquiries, new customers and their supporting professionals. Our Durham Gateway is a pivotal role in getting people to the service that is right for them across the county, supporting waiting lists for all services. With Helen and our fantastic cover staff, you will evaluate referrals so that if there is no availability, we can offer immediate advice or direct enquiries to a service with capacity.

About the team

You will be joining a small but incredibly motivated and dynamic team and be managed by Jane the Client Service Manager. The overall focus is on improving our customer journey whilst ensuring our services feel supported and have the confidence to know we are working passionately to keep those referrals coming into our services. In our team there’s no such thing as ‘a daft question’, we are here to learn and grow, the more we know the more able we are to support service growth.

Working Hours

As you grow in confidence and develop your skills it’s good to know you’ll be supported on your journey by not only Gateway but the wider team. It’s really important that you are at work when your colleagues are around to offer support and guidance. This means that you will work between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday, the good news is you’ll never be expected to work alone.

Please note any offer of employment is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure check through the DBS the costs of which are met by Home Group.

Who we’re looking for

You can apply for this apprenticeship if you are a current or former Home Group customer.

Ideally you will have good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and basic Microsoft Office Skills but before long you’ll be a real whizz! You be great at working with people as part of a team but must be able to work independently and use your initiative. You’ll be keen to learn from others how to prioritise and manage your workload, but an eye for detail is important.
