Job Description

At PSC, we're proud to employ top talent. PSC is comprised of 3 main divisions: Professional Services, Software, and Contract Manufacturing. We are seeking a Microbiology intern to support our Microbiology department at BioTechnique, our Contract Manufacturing Development Organization (CDMO). This candidate will be responsible for general laboratory support functions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains the microbiology laboratory. Follows established procedures, best practices, and Quality Control and Quality Assessment Programs. Drafts, edits, and reviews documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Microbiology and the laboratory. Prepares and assists with various studies. Assists with aseptic techniques, evaluation of plates and test tubes for microbial growth, and Environmental Monitoring studies. Conducts microbiological analysis. Prepares and maintains culture media and solutions. Support logistics inside and outside of the laboratory. Coordinates activities between various teams, including laboratory operations, to support logistic requirements. Performs troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration of instrumentation and equipment used to perform testing, as required. Follows all safety policies and procedures. Manages goals within defined target timeframes. Performs data analysis and presents results. Performs other miscellaneous activities as assigned. Requirements REQUIREMENTS Pursuit of a Bachelors of Science Degree from a 4 year university with a strong STEM program. Preferred experience with testing and microbiology within the laboratory setting. Preferred previous experience with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team requirement. Letter of Recommendation from a Professor and/or Work Supervisor
