PETA Ltd are looking to source an exceptional Engineering Operative Apprentice for our client, Quirepace Limited in Fareham.If you want to develop a career in engineering and would like to learn assembly techniques, this apprenticeship could be ideal for you!Your new apprenticeshipAs an Engineering Operative Apprentice, you will be complying with statutory regulations and organisations safety requirements including any environmental compliance procedures and systems.In your role, you will learn how toIdentify hazards and hazardous situationsPrepare the work area and equipment. Obtain and follow job documentation and work instructions.Learn how to extract the necessary data and information from specifications and related documentation.Carry out the engineering activity, carry out quality checks as required.Eventually you will be working with minimum supervision and will be responsible for your own actions and for the quality and accuracy and timely delivery of the work you undertakeWhat training will I be offered?This position is offered as an apprenticeship and you will be completing a Level 2 Engineering qualification. You will be employed directly by the client but will be supported every step of the way by PETA.Throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship you will be required to attend PETA's Havant training centre for off-the-job training. This will be a 15-month programme, structured as 13 months of day release (1 day a week) of skills training at PETA Ltd where you will complete the EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills).Your units will include:Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safetyWorking efficiently and effectively in Advanced Manufacturing and EngineeringUsing and communicating technical informationAgreed additional unitsUsing and communicating technical informationProducing Components Using Hand Fitting TechniquesMaintaining Mechanical Devices and EquipmentMaintaining Electrical Equipment and SystemsAssembly and Testing Electronic CircuitsYour independent end point assessment will comprise of:Practical Skills Observation to assess your application of skill.Typically, this will be covered within one task.During the observation the independent assessor may ask between 3-6 open questions to assess the related underpinning knowledge. You will also undertake a Professional Discussion this will be a holistic assessment of knowledge, skills and behaviours using a reflective portfolioWhat will I be responsible for?Joining the team as an Engineering Operative Apprentice, you will take on a hands on role.
