Job Description

We are seeking a keen and motivated Apprentice to join our Accounts team as a junior member who wil be given the opportunity to develop high quality, industry relevant skills whilst earning straight away. Training and qualifications will be funded by the company and a full mentoring program implemented with a view to obtaining AAT qualifications. Working at our Headoffice based in Strood, Rochester, Kent you will be involved in a varied accounting role, where you will get exposure to all aspects of accounts working. The ideal applicant with have A or A* - GCSE (or equivalent) grades in Maths and English On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the AAT qualification with regular work based assessments/observations carried out by the Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards 40 hours per week - 8.30am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday with a one hour unpaid lunchbreak Tasks & Responsibilities Set up electronic payments for approval ensuring complete and accurate records of all transactions are maintained.Under supervision, maintain Accounts payable ledgers.Ensure purchases/returns are submitted and credited are in line with policy.Process purchase invoices, ensuring costs are allocated correctly and monitored.Proactively track cost increases, and flag up areas of concern to Head of Finance.Generate invoices as required.Maintain up-to-date management reports and Key Performance Indicators as maintained.Under supervision, Ad-hoc project work as and when required. Desired Skills: Organisational skills with attention to detail.Good communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships.Confident in using Google Sheets/Microsoft Office, ideally Microsoft Excel (experience of intermediate formulas e.g. VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IFERROR is a plus but not required).A strong work ethic and shared values.Demonstrates confidentiality.Interest in technology Desired Personal Skills: Good level of numeracy requiredInterested in commerceDesire to study and pursue a career in finance/management accountancyTeam player
