  • You'll teach maths & English to groups of up to 6 children aged between 4-14, tailoring your approach and supporting consistent progress.

  • You'll support families in maximising their membership through outstanding delivery of our service.

What does a typical shift look like?

No two shifts look the same; you might be delivering one-to-one sessions online, or tutoring a group of children working on different topics in our centre. You may even bring an exciting workshop to life to a lively bunch of budding learners however one thing's for certain; there won't be any lesson planning or marking in sight as all the resources have been created and designed, ready for you to bring to life.

This role is fast-paced, hands-on and varied, and your training will match. Be ready to roll up your sleeves and embrace every challenge; trust us, it's worth it when you see the progress you and your members make. From your first week in the role, you'll learn how to lead the learning experience, and you'll think on your feet to adapt to each family. You'll also hone your communication skills to deliver quality feedback to families, and confidently guide our members towards achieving their goals.

Ready to apply?

  • Are you confident in maths and English having achieved a grade C/5 or above in your GCSEs or equivalent, and passionate about working with children in an educational setting?
  • Do you have initiative to think on your feet when faced with a challenge, and willing to learn new skills, taking ownership of your development?
  • Are you aged 16or over, currently living in the UK? Please note, you will only be able to do online shifts if you are 17 or over.

Logistics

  • Consider your availability: most of our tutors work between 2-3 consistent shifts per week; you'll be able to request as many hours as you'd like, as long as it's more than your minimum of 6 contracted weekly hours.
  • Think about where you will be based most of the year: as this will become your home centre where you have your regular weekly hours.
  • You'll be committed to children's safeguarding: promoting the welfare of children and young people. All successful applicants will undertake employment reference checks, and Disclosure & Barring Service check.
  • Your hourly rate will depend on your age; you'll earn between£5.65-£9.00working in a centre outside the M25 and£6.15-£9.50for a centre inside the M25.
