Job description PKF Francis Clark have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Apprentice in our Truro office.The successful candidate will provide payroll services for PKF Francis Clark clients.Your responsibilities Using IRIS Payroll Professional software to run weekly, monthly and quarterly payroll runs, for clients with anything up to 100+ employeesDeveloping and maintaining client relationships to deliver excellent serviceAdministering Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) and Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP) schemes and maintaining all required dataProcessing starters and leaversCompleting various forms for internal administration and as required by HMRCProcessing year end payroll procedures, such as producing P60’s and P35’sKeeping the Payroll Manager briefed on workflow, deadlines and any issuesUndertaking general administration work, such as electronic filing etc.Administering client’s Work Place pension scheme, to include file uploads to multiple pension portals. Knowledge, skills and attributes Educated to 3 A Levels (A-C) or equivalent (not general studies), with GCSE’s (A-C) including Maths and English.Comfortable working to challenging deadlines on a regular basisAccurate, numerate, with a methodical and organised approach to workAble to deal with a wide range of clients in a polite and professional manner, predominantly by phone and e-mailAble to work independently and as part of a teamIT literate and able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook and particularly Excel, in capturing data and generating reportsSome work experience in business or an accountancy practice is desirable, but an aptitude for the work is more importantInvestigative and problem-solving nature Training As part of this role you will be completing the Payroll Administration Apprenticeship Level 3The training will be completed by an online training provider and study time will be allowedFull support for technical training and career development from a Payroll manager and other members of the teamOpportunities to later progress and gain further qualifications are available for the right candidates.
