Job overview An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgical Division and we are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and proactive trainee assocaite advanced nurse practitioner (surgical) to cover a period of maternity leave. You will have proven clinical excellence and experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an expereinced nurse practitioner with surgical background or someone already on the ANP MSc training pathway.You will be supported in your continual development and work closely with the Surgical Matron and Lead Consultant in running this service. If you feel you have the skills to fulfill this role then please arrange an informal visit to discuss with the Matron. Main duties of the job The Surgical SDEC team are a small team and work closely together providing the highest standards of care and attention to our patients.You will work as part of the SDEC (Surgical Same Day Emergency Care Unit) Team. You will triage, assess, plan, treat and discharge patients and arrange follow up through the MSE surgical pathways under the supervision of the on call Consultant. They will triage and assess all G.P. and A & E referred patients into SDEC. This will involve working closely with A & E and SATU (Surgical Assessment Treatment Unit) and the ward staff. The post holder is responsible for facilitating a culture of evidence based practice, act as an effective leader both professionally and managerially for all members of nursing and support staff.
