Job Description

Redefine the boundaries of technology. Focus your skills on data. Advance the process.

Assurance at EY

At EY, no question is too small, too ambitious or too imaginative. We use our curiosity to ask better questions, that inspire better answers. That’s how we build a better working world.

Assurance helps us to build a better working world, by instilling the confidence and trust that capital markets need. You’ll protect public confidence in the world’s capital markets, across audit and beyond. You’ll help companies and governments publish accurate financial accounts others can rely on – so we can build a better working world as you progress towards becoming a chartered accountant. And you’ll craft a skillset equipped for our future, working with cutting-edge technologies to develop innovations that will change tomorrow. Here, your career is truly yours to build. Experience our world. Your way.

Technology in Assurance

We use cutting-edge technology such as Robotic Process Automation and Process Mining to review our client’s population data. From implementing digital approaches into our global audit methodology to processing millions of transactions into visual analytics solutions, you’ll use digital technology to power your audit work. We’ll make sure you get the right training too, as you’ll learn about data visualisation, design thinking and much more.

What will you be doing?

You’ll build a career that’s yours to own. With infinite opportunities to lead, learn and transform, we’ll empower you to use your voice to influence decisions and build a world as unique as you. Here you will:

  • Get to know our clients, their businesses and how they work
  • Test checks and balances to ensure they work how they’re supposed to
  • Analyse the data that goes into a financial statement to make sure it is true and fair
  • Spend substantial periods of time with clients
  • Work longer hours during peak times in client delivery work – this is especially the case during busy season when you’ll work over weekends too. We work hard, but it’s a worthwhile journey.

Are you eligible to apply?

We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and to have completed three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) by the time the programme starts. Further requirements may be required, please check the website for more guidance.

“Choosing an apprenticeship was my best decision. Not only am I accelerating my career, I’m also able to give back to others through EY Ripples and the EY Foundation, something I'm very passionate about.” – Mahmood, Assurance Apprentice
