Job Description

Purchasing Professionals is currently working with a well respected Accountancy practice based in Liverpool City Centre. They are currently looking for an experienced Accountant for a Semi senior Accountant to join a dynamic and rapidly growing team.

To be considered for this role you will need experience with VAT returns, Tax returns and producing statutory accounts.

Duties include:

  • Support regional client facing audit teams by preparing statutory accounts from trial balance in line with UK reporting standards.
  • Be confident in preparing consolidated accounts.
  • Formally train junior colleagues.
  • Carry out peer reviews for new members of the team.
  • Deliver team outputs to agreed timescale, quality and volume.
  • Deal with internal queries with colleagues and teams across UK.
  • Seek to be involved in projects outside your primary role when opportunities arise.
  • Provide support to other colleague teams dependent upon seasonality of core work.

Skills required:

  • Substantial experience preparing statutory accounts for manager review.
  • Experience of preparing management accounts is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of using accounts production packages is required.
  • Experience of training junior members of staff.
  • IT skills - strong working knowledge of MS Excel, other MS products and similar desktop applications. Willingness to learn new systems is essential.
  • Well presented with a professional level of communication - both verbal and written
  • Good time management, organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Energised, enthusiastic and results orientated.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to use own initiative and take a flexible approach.
