Job Description

Description:

  • Oversee the planning, design, and construction of a project from beginning to end. Site managers are required to keep within the timescale and budget of a project and manage any delays or problems encountered on-site during construction. You'll spend around five years studying towards your level 6 apprenticeship whilst gaining valuable experience to become a Site Manager.

Overview of the Role:

  • To assist in managing an efficient construction operation, to achieve health & safety, quality and production delivery requirements within the constraints of the project cost plan
  • Become familiar with safety, quality processes and programme for the specific operations happening on site
  • Become familiar with all relevant design information. Learn to read and understand drawings, including reinforcement drawings. Start to look ahead of the works happening on site
  • Become proficient in the use of the company management system. Understand what "Good" looks like and play a part in making
  • Take every possible opportunity to improve your knowledge and development - expand the breadth of your knowledge-base as well as the depth
  • Assist in ensuring that all building operations are carried out safely, in strict accordance with the Company's Health & Safety policy and the operation-specific Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Play a key role in administering the environmental, safety and health documentation - ensure paperwork is of the required standard and content and is filed correctly and promptly
  • Assist with ensuring that necessary action is promptly taken when subcontractors/suppliers fail to meet any pre-agreed or company requirements
  • Carrying out ad-hoc tasks as required by the line manager
  • Work safely and competently in a site based environment always adhering to Group Health and Safety standards

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To undertake an agreed programme of learning that leads to gaining a recognised qualification as part of an apprenticeship framework/standard
  • To actively participate in your development plan under the supervision of your line manager, and the training provider assessor
  • To work under supervision to learn your role. Specifics for each apprenticeship role can be found at the end of the job description
  • To work safely and competently and always adhere to Group Standards
  • Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is used at the appropriate time for each task being undertaken.
  • To undertake and take part in other duties, meetings, toolbox talks, supervision, training and events as requested by your manager that aids learning and development for your role
  • To demonstrate compassion and consideration for others, forming mutual trust and professional respect
  • To operate with a 'one team' approach demonstrating flexible engagement with internal and external colleagues
  • To operate with consistent effort, overcoming obstacles to achieve a goal
