Job Description

As the Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department dedicated to diagnosing & problem-solving on production equipment.

Client Details

An established medical company are embarking on a new chapter and setting up a new facility in the UK & need to develop a new engineering team. They are taking their specialist industry experience and applying it in a new setting, having secured an exciting new contract in the UK.

Description

As the Multi-Skilled Engineer you will be diagnosing & correcting issues on a range of equipment including; electrical, mechanical, hydraulics & pneumatics. You will be fault finding electrically and mechanically, getting to the root cause and advising the operational team of expected periods of down time. You will also be working with your team on planned maintenance activities to ensure the site gets the most out of all the electromechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working safely, performing Dynamic Risk Assessments before engaging in new tasks
  • Operating equipment as required to do so
  • Work & train operators to operate the machinery effectively
  • Work on Projects to help improve the performance of the lines
  • Perform the necessary technical operations (clean, repair, replace defective or worn parts)
  • Perform routine maintenance, as directed by the Maintenance Manager an in line with maintenance plan
  • Ensure electrical and mechanical safety procedures are followed in line with regulations
  • Making quick decision while complying with health and safety regulations
  • Ensure in all these activities that the integrity and quality of all products are maintained
  • Ensure health and safety compliance of all maintenance operations
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and monitor according to regulatory constraints
  • Maintain the Stores Inventory as directed by line management

Role will involve Days, Nights & Weekends

Profile

A Maintenance Engineer (both electrical and mechanical biases will be considered) who is technically minded, aspiring to pursue a successful career in Engineering & Manufacturing and the following:

  • Ideally, a relevant qualification within an Engineering discipline (Apprentice/HNC/HND)
  • Ideally, experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment (Food Manufacturing, Packaging, Hygiene etc)
  • Ability to read & interpret drawings & instructions
  • Ideally, working knowledge electrical & mechanical systems
  • Strong diagnostic & problem-solving techniques

Job Offer

Circa £35,000 - £40,000 Benefits
