About the role Humanitarian Operations (HOPE) is a charitable organization that aims to bring equal and fair education to the masses through a fun and engaging educational AR (Augmented Reality) app.We are looking for a research intern, which at the moment is a very diverse role as it includes research related to the market, technology, and education. Your work at HOPE will help make a real impact on the lives of children, the homeless, and disaster survivors around the world.Joining at this phase of our company, you will be working towards our goal of minimizing education inequality.Bringing new and positive education to anyone with access to a smartphone, in a fun and engaging way. Responsibilities within the role include but aren’t limited to : Using statistical software to manage and organize information.Monitoring the progress of research projects and writing detailed reports and presenting results.Analyzing and interpreting data to identify patterns and solutionsAnalyze large sets of data and information, drawing relevant conclusionsWork to deadlines have an awareness of costs and budgetsDevelop positive working relationships with internal and external contacts fostering effective work and future collaborationAbility to understand the brief and deliver reports accordingly. Skills: You'll need to have:A mixture of creative, technical, and analytical skills with an excellent researching skillStrong written communication ability, as you may be involved in writing copy for the website.Creativity and innovation, to come up with new ideasEnthusiasm for design and technologyA clear understanding of statistical terms and conceptsTechnical aptitude, to learn how to use new equipment and emerging technologyStrong IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office, and for some areas excellent data analysis and statistical knowledgeA strong passion for your discipline and motivation to continue learning and reach deadlines and targetsFlexibility and resilience to stay motivated when research doesn't generate results in the expected timescale. Requirements: You need to be based in the Greater London area.Unfortunately, we are not evaluating if you are currently living outside LondonMust have your own laptop which you can use and bring to workAble to commit to 3 months, working a minimum of 3 days a week Who are we? Humanitarian Operations (HOPE) started as a ‘First Responder Disaster Relief Agency’ on September 1st, 2004, when the Bahamian Government became overwhelmed by the disaster and destruction caused by Hurricane Frances.The team has operated and provided much-needed assistance in every major disaster location since its formation, including the Haitian Earthquake, the Indian Ocean Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, and the floods in India.It is impossible to quantify the number of lives that have been saved.
