Job Description

Based within South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation TrustLevel 3 ApprenticeshipMulti Skilled Engineer with a Mechanical BiasFixed Term for 4 Years A position has arisen for a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Multi Skilled with a Mechanical Bias (note as this is a multiskilled apprenticeship you will study and work both electrically and mechanically) based within the above organisation. The Apprenticeship Standard you will study for will either be the Healthcare Engineering Specialist Technician or Science Industry Maintenance Technician.Support service installations and their maintenance are an essential part of the NHS and form a vital link in Health Care Provision. The precise details of any of the apprenticeship are dependent on a number of factors that may be subject to change at various stages of the training and qualifications already obtained, however, the information below will provide an overview of the envisaged training requirements of the apprenticeship.Further Education Training -The apprentice will attend a FE College one day and one night a week to study for the Level 3 Diploma in Engineering for the first two years.Practical Training -During the first year the apprentice will attend a training centre on block release to achieve the level 2 in engineering. Once this has been achieved, the apprentice will then commence training towards their End Point Assessment for their full Apprenticeship Standard, which will take place within the employing organisation and NYNHSAC. The apprentice will also be required to study the relevant Functional Skills at level 2 (dependant on GCSE results).Additional specialist trainingThe apprentice may also at some stage of the apprenticeship attend additional courses, depending on availability for example: C&G 2377 PAT Testing courseElectrical Fault finding course The apprenticeship will commence during the week commencing 30th August 2021 subject to all necessary checks being carried out, including a colour blindness test. Qualifications acceptable on entry are usually a minimum of GCSE at Grade B / 5 in Mathematics and Grade C / 4, or equivalent, in at least 4 other subjects to include a science based subject.
