About the RoleThe vision at this charity is of a society of sustainable communities that are vibrant, healthy, and safe, which respect the environment and allow individuals and enterprises to prosper.As a PR Intern you will be at the forefront of an exciting charity, where we aim to provide children of all ages education through our various upcoming projects and products. You will work closely with project delivery teams to plan and implement communications strategies across multiple channels in order to promote and increase engagement with their projects and services and will be responsible for the creation of high-quality, creative communications that deliver against these strategic priorities. The successful candidate would need to be a confident copywriter in order to hit the ground running in this role.You will join a small yet dynamic team and the organisation offers a supportive working environment, and the opportunity to navigate your own ideas and push boundaries.You’ll be working with our specialist teams to help develop and implement PR and comms strategies, gain coverage on traditional and digital media globally. Responsibilities within the role include but aren’t limited to: Using your creativity, write excellent content, press releases, articles, blogs etc.Confidently speaking with the media/clients, gaining coverage in the right pressReaching out to celebrities, social media influencers and agents to arrange for them to promote our products and projectsHelping develop and research news stories & create brand awarenessPreparing and supervising the production of publicity promotional videos, photographs, films and multimedia programmes.Manage and update information and engage with users on social media sites such as Twitter and FacebookExperience in writing and implementing communications plans for projects or campaignsThe ability to communicate compelling stories and key messages to specific target audiences through a variety of mediums, including effective and engaging copywritingExperience developing and maintaining media relations to secure positive media coverageExperience creating effective PR strategies and campaignsKnowledge of basic-intermediate graphic design principles and experience applying these to produce content for digital and print mediumsThe ability to work as part of a busy, high performing team Skills: You’ll need to have: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including effective writing skillsSelf-confidence, drive, competence and a willingness to learnExcellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitaskFlexibility, determination, enthusiasm and the ability to cope under pressureCreativity, imagination and initiativeBusiness awareness and a good knowledge of current affairsThe ability to think strategically, for planning successful PR campaignsThe capacity to prioritise tasks and projects effectively. Requirements: You need to be based in the Greater London area.Unfortunately, we are not evaluating if you are currently living outside LondonMust have your own laptop which you can use and bring to workThe Position is office-based and you should be able to commit to 3 months, working a minimum of 4 days a week Who are we? Humanitarian Operations (HOPE) started as a ‘First Responder Disaster Relief Agency’ on September 1st, 2004, when the Bahamian Government became overwhelmed by the disaster and destruction caused by Hurricane Frances.The team has operated and provided much-needed assistance in every major disaster location since its formation, including the Haitian Earthquake, the Indian Ocean Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina and the floods in India.It is impossible to quantify the number of lives that have been saved.
