Help local and international businesses find better ways of doing tax while you progress towards becoming a tax advisor.

What is Tax at EY?
Tax affects every aspect of our lives and laws are always changing. We help organisations from start-ups to influential multinationals manage every element of their business’s tax.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across borders, using EY tools and networks to solve complex business and tax problems. By combining the power of EY’s tax experience with innovative technology, you can help us transform the tax function of the future.

Locations available: Cambridge, Edinburgh and London.

What will you be doing?
Working across various specialist tax teams within UK & Ireland or Financial Services
Working directly on tax reporting, technical research and data analysis alongside senior colleagues
Building important relationships with clients
Are you eligible to apply?
4.5 year programme

Level 7 Apprenticeship*
in Accountancy and Taxation (equivalent to a master’s degree)
*Please note this applies to English office locations only.

Professional qualifications
with ICAEW in England, ICAS in Scotland – two of the UK’s most highly regarded chartered accountant qualifications

Up to £22,000
Dependent on location, salaries up to £22,000

How’s it structured?
Developing your understanding of local and international tax laws is at the heart of this apprenticeship. After an EY induction you’ll join your team in either Financial Services or UK & Ireland where you will specialise in a particular area of Tax.

Wherever you’re based, you’ll be learning on-the-job, have access to coaching and training opportunities and lots of support from your team, too. In your first year you’ll also begin working towards your professional qualifications. All apprentices will study for a CFAB qualification, which leads to full ACA qualification with a potential further option to complete the CTA. (However, if you work in FS Personal Tax, you’ll complete a CFAB qualification followed by the Association of Taxation Technicians professional qualification as part of the level 4 apprenticeship). Over the course of the apprenticeship you’ll build invaluable business skills and knowledge that will ready you for a brilliant career, wherever you set your sights.
