Job Description

We're looking for two Trainee Health, Safety Wellbeing Coordinators.

What your LinkedIn will now say: Trainee Health, Safety Wellbeing Coordinator

What you're going to do:

As our Trainee Health, Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator you're the final piece in our safety wellbeing jigsaw puzzle. After a short settling in and training period you're going to be pivotal with our plans of keeping everyone happy whilst they're at work.

You'll be working with a busy team of safety professionals and will help carry out our ambitions plans. You're going to learn a lot about keeping people safe in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Even though it's a trainee position, the job is going to be varied and it's going to keep your brain busy. At Tingdene it's safe to say that no two days are the same.

Either way, it's safe to say you won't get bored working for us… (We promise that's the only terrible pun in this advert). At times it might be challenging, but you will feel rewarded at the end of a project when everything comes together. Not put off yet? Amazing. Let's get into the details.

How you're going to do it:

You're going to check our safety procedures and make sure everyone's safe whilst we're at work. We're not all perfect, but with your help we'll be pretty close.
You're going to help the team come up with new initiatives to improve the workplace for everyone.
We're pushing beyond 250 people in the team now, so there's a lot of us to look after when it comes to our safety wellbeing. Some days you'll hit your 10k step count by lunchtime speaking to people at a safe distance, but don't worry our safety shoes are really, really comfy.
We always want to know how we're improving, and we'll need you to help the team make beautiful graphs and charts, so we know we're on track. We're going to offer you:

The chance for progression, even though we're over 50 years old we're still growing quickly. If you enjoy it here, there's plenty of roles you could move into if you want to widen your skills.
We're nothing without our team and for everyone to succeed we invest in our people. Our team do hundreds of hours of training each year and if you're up for it we can get you on some formal training. Your CV is going to start to look very impressive, very quickly.
Real life experience. We get it, we don't expect everyone to stay in the same job for 50 years and get the golden pocket watch. But we like to think that whilst you're in team Tingdene you're learning every day and gaining real lifelong skills.Apprenticeship | Trainee | Timber Frame | Modular | Health | Safety | Well-being | Kick-Start Programme | IT Literate | MS Office | Risk Assessment | Reporting | Document Control | Manufacturing | Construction

Essential Skills

What we're expecting from you:

You're motivated, you understand what real work looks like and you're ready to dive into the day and face what's ahead of you.
You've got some common sense, we'll teach you the law and the reasoning behind the dreaded risk assessments; but we're assuming you know you shouldn't put your hand in that spinning, sharp mechanical thing guarded by snakes.
You want to learn. Every day is going to teach you something new, we know you're not going to get it right every time, but we're looking for someone who can learn on the job and make progress each week.
We want someone who can help make amazing documents that make for easy reading. You've got an eye for detail and can spot a typo at a thousand paces.
You've got basic computer skills; we don't need a hacker but if you're ok on the usual Microsoft packages then you'll be fine.
You're able to stand on your feet for long periods of time and do lots of walking. Our sites about 9 acres, your step count is going to go into overdrive.
You're friendly and have great interpersonal skills.
You can work with your own initiative when you're on your own but can also work well within a team and open to direction and recommendations.

You've got some GCSE's behind you that show you're the right candidate for us.The boring but really important part:
