Job Description

Innovate a safer world. Code the future of work. Programme a unique experience.

Start your tech career with the EY Degree Apprenticeship in Digital and Technology. You’ll gain real work experience, help clients with your tech savvy advice, develop your digital skills and work towards a BSc degree – without the student loan. This is how you find your own way, build your own experience and make a big impact within the digital community. This is how you create long-term value in a place where you truly belong. Welcome to tomorrow.

What is the Degree Apprenticeship in Digital and Technology at EY?

We help companies thrive in the transformative age by exploring new ideas and scaling successes. As part of the wider Technology team, you’ll help EY and our clients find new ways of using artificial intelligence (AI) and other innovative technologies to improve their business. Imagine taking responsibility for new technologies that have the power to change the world we live and work in, and using that technology to advise, design, build and transform.

Our Technology teams combine digital know-how with advanced tech to help clients understand and transform their businesses. Our high-performing teams are diverse, inclusive and borderless. Our experience helps clients grow, manage, protect and, when necessary, transform their businesses. Together, we shape entire industries by applying the right technological solutions to real world problems. Your diversity of thought will only strengthen our work within this incredibly varied business area.

What will you be doing?

On a day-to-day basis you could be helping teams to solve client problems using technologies like blockchain, or analysing huge data sets and building insights to present to clients and EY specialist teams. The work and clients will be varied, so you’ll gain knowledge and skills that will set you up for a rewarding career.

The work you’ll be doing could include:

  • Specialising in Data Architecture & Integration, Solution Engineering & Development; Data Science; Technology Operations & Service Delivery or Cyber & Information Security
  • Analysing data sets, designing, prototyping and building new tech solutions for clients, and advising different teams on leveraging new technologies
  • Working in supportive teams across Assurance, Consulting, People Advisory, Strategy & Transactions or Tax
  • Helping clients and other EY teams use the latest tech to deal with complex issues like fraud, deriving evidence from complex data, automating compliance processes, chatbots and the future of work

You’ll be constantly learning as you balance on-the-job training alongside studying towards your BSc(Hons). You’ll also gain a host of transferable skills, on-the-job coaching and support from a careers counsellor to ensure that you reach your potential. But beyond official rewards, the biggest reward of working here will be the sense of belonging you have within your team. This is where everyone thrives, together.

Entry requirements

We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and to have completed three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) by the time the programme starts.

“My team works with a variety of machine learning and AI technology. Normally this is associated with helping to design new software and technologies to help automate out-of-date tax procedures.” Zak, Degree Apprenticeship in Digital and Technology Programme
