Job Description

Logistics and Structure Planning are responsible for planning the part storage, material flow, line-side presentation and plant structure. The planning target is to ensure that the right part is in the right place at the right time. Our supply chain team are responsible for supply chain planning, container planning and the design, development and implementation of containers / packaging standards & ensuring a robust supply chain for the delivery of Bespoke features.

This is a four-year apprenticeship programme underpinned with a BSc (Hons) Degree. You will have the opportunity to work within complex and demanding supply chain environments, gaining valuable experience and skills, whilst studying for your qualification and experiencing university life.

  • Level 6 Apprentices will spend their first years learning all about Rolls-Royce Motor Cars supply chain and developing their academic skills.
  • Supply, packaging and transport concepts.
  • Systems update and process monitoring.
  • VPS optimisation.
  • General quality improvements.
  • Layout & structure topics.
  • New product integration, series launch, running changes and bespoke.

To date, 100% of apprentices successfully completing the programme have been offered full time employment at the end of their studies.

    Rate of Pay

    A competitive salary starting at c. £13,650 pa which will increase annually up to c. £28,000 depending on individual progress and performance.

    Working Hours

    40 hour working week. Apprentice start and finish times at Goodwood are 06:00 – 14:30 but may vary slightly according to work-based placements and college hours.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Qualifications :

  • Maths GCSE C Grade/level 4 or above and English Language GCSE C Grade/level 4 or above plus a further three GCSEs including a Science, Engineering, Technology or other Maths Subject at Grade C/level 4 or above.
  • Alternatively Engineering Vocational qualification Level 3
  • You will also need 3 A levels at Grade C or above to include a Science, Engineering, Technology, or Maths subject (must have a high numerical content)
  • When it comes to selecting the right apprentices, it’s as much about attitude and behaviours as it is about vocational and academic success. That’s why in addition to the qualifications we require from you, we’ll also look for you to have a range of skills, attributes and competencies. These include: team working, as well being able to work without close supervision; quality focus; good communication skills; the ability to show enthusiasm and initiative; and to take responsibility and be accountable for your work.

    Work experience

  • Experience of working within a logistics or planning environment is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Additional skills: Special skills/technical ability etc.

  • Creative Thinker
  • General IT Skills (Desktop)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Apps e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.

    As part of your application you will need to upload one of the following :

    - a copy of your most recent school report* and a CV or
    - a CV and an employer reference, or
    - a CV and a personal statement 

    We cannot progress your application without either a school report, employer reference or personal statement.

    *If you are currently studying you must upload a school/college report.

    You must also be able to provide proof of your legal right to work in the UK, if you are not a UK or European passport holder.
