Job Description

Established in 1975 and based in Heysham, Lancashire, Alan Dick Engineering Ltd (ADE) provides a wide-ranging sub-contract engineering, machining and fabrication service to the industry. Over the years, ADE has gained a high reputation for the quality of service by working closely with its customers.



By providing both machining and fabrication services, ADE has become a ‘One Stop Engineering Shop’, allowing us to provide both practical and cost-effective solutions to meet your specific requirements. We specialise in bespoke, quick turnaround work, servicing all sectors including the nuclear, offshore, marine, food, construction and chemical industries.



Daily duties will include: 




  • To become proficient in the application and use of a wide range of machine tools including, but not restricted to, conventional and CNC turning and milling, grinding and drilling

  • Fitting and assembly skills including the use of hand tools and marking out

  • Training in the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) using proprietary software packages

  • Carrying out such tasks and duties as directed by the Departmental Technical Manager / Supervisor that are calculated to contribute to the requisite levels of performance and competence

  • To provide instruction and advice within the Department commensurate with training completed
