We are looking for a determined NPI - Manufacturing Engine - Placement Student to join our team specializing in the smooth introduction of new engine and generator set models into production for our Power Systems Business Unit in Daventry manufacturing site. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:


  • Attend design review meeting.

  • Complete engine design reviews for NPI department.

  • Write engine process documentation.

  • Record & update issues data base.

  • Organise and lead meeting with various stakeholders.

  • Support NPI engine builds through the manufacturing process.


To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • We are looking for a wide range of applicants studying towards a Bachelor or Master's degree from across all Engineering & STEM related subjects and not graduating this academic year.

  • PC literacy - knowledge of 3D modelling (Solid works / Creo or another SW); MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Practical approach to support technical evaluation, be able to recommend improvements, ability to manage own projects.

  • Has experience in, and can demonstrate, relevant examples of Cummins core values e.g. voluntary work, community involvement activities, working with disadvantaged groups, charity related support, delivering superior results, teamwork, good communication, competencies and outside education experiences.
