Job Description

Who we are
Our purpose - to build trust in society and solve important problems - has never felt more relevant. We bring our purpose to life through our focus on our clients, our people and the communities in which we live and work to address current and future challenges. As one of the world’s leading professional services organisations, attracting the right talent continues to be paramount. Investing in our people is central to our mission and inclusive culture. Whether it be empowering our people to learn new skills for the digital world, to reimagine the possible on how we work with clients, or to be open-minded on how we care for and support each other, we want to create an environment where our people can be the best they can be.

School and College Leaver programme

A position on our School and College Leaver programme is one of the best ways to kickstart your career with PwC. Our programmes are designed to help you develop your business skills through real client work, while also completing formal training and studying towards qualifications to give you a head start in your career. PwC will provide you with support all the way. You’ll earn a competitive salary, benefit from our excellent support networks and have the opportunity to continually progress your career. Just like our graduate joiners, you’ll work on varied and challenging client and internal projects, which make a real difference to the world of business. You’ll be coached by our people, who are experts in their field, and at the same time, thanks to our study support, you won’t need to worry about paying for course and exam fees, textbooks or revision materials.

What we do in Tax

We help our clients stay ahead of the changes that impact their business. Equipped with the scale of a seamlessly connected global network, we’re where they need us - delivering deep tax technical expertise, while providing the critical context to help make informed and compliant decisions that drive their operations forward. At a global and local level, we design best-in-class integrated tax and legal strategies that empower clients to move from complexity to execution.

Our expertise covers every conceivable area of taxation. Our tax experts proactively engage in the tax policy debate and are focused on leading views and new ideas. Your knowledge will help high-profile organisations, entrepreneurs and family businesses, understand complex rules and make informed decisions with significant impacts. Our people need to be flexible and ready to build strong relationships, networks and leadership skills.

We have School and College Leaver Tax opportunities in:

  • Accounting Services

  • Corporate and Indirect Tax

  • Global Mobility

  • People and Organisation

  • Private Client

What you’ll gain

You'll enjoy plenty of practical, on-the-job training while studying for one of two professional qualifications. On our CFAB route we’ll support you as you study for a Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business. This is a nationally recognised professional qualification with Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Alternatively for our ATT programmes you'll enjoy plenty of practical, on-the-job training while studying for a professional qualification with the ATT (Association of Tax Technicians) as a core part of your programme, which is a nationally recognised qualification.

What you’ll need

  • Minimum requirements are 96 UCAS* for the ATT pathway or 112 UCAS * for the CFAB pathway from up to three full A-Levels (or equivalent), and a Grade C or 4 or above in GCSE (or equivalent) English Language and Mathematics.

  • Exams must have been taken in the same sitting and resits are accepted only where modules or papers have been retaken in the same academic year. If you have any extenuating circumstances related to your exam marks or the sequencing of your exams, please declare this on your application and this will be considered as we review your application.
