Job Description


  • To contribute to the planning for and delivery of the early years curriculum within the six areas of learning in “Foundation Stage”

  • To implement the agreed schools development plan

  • To contribute to the creating of an attractive/stimulating, safe/secure class/school environment through display and classroom organisation

  • To contribute to the assessment of pupils, particularly those in your particular group through observations, records and discussions with other team members, parents and the Head Teacher

  • To support the maintenance of positive links between home and school by making parents feel welcome and develop links with other agencies

  • To maintain a safe environment for children, other staff and visitors so far as it is possible

  • To be aware of, and maintain, specific school policies which relate to pupils in the classroom, ie; behaviour, equal opportunities and marking where applicable

  • The post holder will not have any supervisory responsibility over any other staff

  • Responsible to Supervisory Early Years Practitioner

  • To work under supervision physically in the same classroom as the above
